A crowd of guests fills a gallery lined with colourful cartoon paintings and Monopoly figure sculptures near tall windows

Alec Monopoly at Eden Gallery

Eden Gallery, New York City

In May 2025, Alec Monopoly developed a wall scale Monopoly Man mural at Eden Gallery in SoHo, New York City, as guests gathered with phones raised. Jenya photographed the live art event for Eden Gallery, following the mural from early marks to the finished installation. Coverage included painting materials, the artist working at the wall, and a money counter on a red safe overflowing with novelty bills. The bright gallery presented an exposure challenge: keeping white walls, projected color and skin tones from flattening together. Jenya photographed through spectators and their phone screens to document the crowd’s reactions alongside the painting, with close views of the work in progress and wider views of the installation. JPX Studios delivered a gallery of 316 frames.

A live mural changes from minute to minute, so the coverage followed its progression instead of waiting only for a finished piece. JPX Studios photographed the early marks, the artist working against the wall, details of the materials, and the crowd reacting as the image became recognizable. In a bright gallery, the challenge is less about adding light than keeping white walls, projected color, and skin tones from flattening into the same exposure.

The completed gallery preserves both the artwork and the event around it. Clean views document the installation, close frames show the physical act of painting, and layered compositions place spectators and their phone screens between the camera and the wall. The result communicates why a live art opening feels different from a conventional exhibition: the audience sees the work become the finished object.
