UNSEEN Exhibition
UNSEEN’s glowing red statistic panels appear behind silhouetted visitors in Jenya’s photographs from September 2025. The exhibition at Lume Studios in Tribeca, Manhattan, focused on North Korean women’s lives and voices, bringing together fourteen international artists alongside video testimony from North Korean escapees. Jenya photographed the works, testimony, exhibition design and opening, and filmed the exhibition for a recap. Installation views paired angled wall text with lightbox panels of clothing and cosmetics, while audience photographs documented people listening and reading. JPX Studios delivered a gallery of 144 frames and the recap film, UNSEEN at Lume.
Fourteen international artists appeared alongside video testimony from North Korean escapees. The coalition behind the project included Amnesty International, FIDH, HanVoice, ICNK, CSW, and NKnet. JPX Studios photographed the works, testimony, exhibition design, and opening with a restrained documentary approach, prioritizing names, words, and individual accounts over decorative views of the venue.

The resulting record shows how UNSEEN joined art, testimony, advocacy, and public awareness. Clean installation photographs preserve the exhibition’s structure, closer frames keep individual voices and works legible, and audience images document people listening and reading. The gallery supports the project’s historical record without turning a sensitive subject into spectacle, keeping the women represented by the exhibition at the center of the story.
