Cashear Launch Party
New York City
At Lavan Chelsea, New York City, projected color became the working light for Cashear’s launch party around November 2024. Jenya photographed the room, live performance and crowd, moving between the stage, the edge of the audience and the center of the floor. Coverage started with wide views before the audience closed the sightlines. During the performance, shorter exposures held gestures and faces while preserving the ambient color. Jenya watched for moments when the graphics, performers and raised phones lined up in a single frame.
The coverage began with clean wide frames of the room before the audience closed the sightlines. Once the performance started, the projected color became the working light rather than something to neutralize. Jenya moved between the stage, the edge of the crowd, and the center of the floor, watching for moments when the graphics, performer, and raised phones lined up in a single frame. Shorter exposures held gestures and faces while preserving enough ambient color to show how the production actually felt.

The resulting photographs move from establishing views to performance details and crowd reactions. That sequence gives Cashear more than a collection of nightlife images: it records the launch as a designed experience, shows the audience engaging with it, and provides horizontal and vertical frames that can work across press, social media, and future event recaps.
